Can you Do it?
That was one of our first questions to Tony, when we initially met him at studio belbela in Bamburi. The studio is run by Bella, a good friend to my wife and without whom, TBEZZE would not be what it is today.
Assante sana Bella, we owe you one x
Over the course of the next few days, we were introduced to Felix and Ed. We spoke about the brief, what me and my wife were looking for, timings, costs and of course our preferred libations.
Then we set to work…
This page goes some way to documenting how TBEZZE came to life through the artistry, dedication and love that Tony, Felix and Ed shared with me and my family.

connecting the rooms
This was important. We didn’t want to make a big impression on entering the apartment and then just ignore the rest of the property. The tribal patterns created by the boys are carefully positioned throughout the apartment as a way of tying everything together and providing a degree of artistic cohesion.
The artworks are all unique and are layered with meaning. Interestingly. When you sit down and look at them, especially with friends and family. Different people interpret them in different ways, and see different things. It makes for interesting conversation.
that mural
I think being honest with ourselves, we didn’t know how it was going to come to life. Of course we knew, stylistically what we wanted to achieve. But we didn’t know what the narrative was. It was definitely a collaborative, organic process that flourished over time. There’s the inventiveness of Felix’s insane patterns. Tony’s eye for balance, detail and the all important story line. And Ed’s penchant for depicting women in the most beautiful of ways.
The mural tells multiple stories of Kenya, of religion, of love, of family, of friendship and of…
Well, we’ll let you make up your own mind, after all, it’s always about interpretation.

“where your wife sees mess gaz, you see art”
I’m biased I know. But to my mind, you're looking at 3 of Kenya’s finest emerging artists. fact.

Tony
The Boss man
Well, he’s the brains behind the project. Super talented, committed, dedicated to his craft and definitely the gaffer. But without a woman!
Can you believe that? I can’t.
Ladies, you can contact him below

Felix
The spaghetti man
This guy does my nut in - his work is so simple, yet complex. And so very beautiful, you could spend hours immersed in it.
Abstract? Deffinately. Cool? Absolutely.
Ladies, I’m sorry, this one’s spoken for.

Ed
The ladies man
What can we say about Ed? Errrmm… loads . Never stops smiling, likes to, and is good at, painting the female form.
Bit of a ladies man this one!
